Question Coffee is the café and roastery social enterprise of Sustainable Growers. It brings coffee grown by the women we train from our partner cooperatives to cups in Kigali, Washington, D.C. and Dubai, opening new markets and building economic independence for women farmers and their families.
Sustainable Growers opened the first Question Coffee Café in Kigali in 2015. The café gave Rwandans a place to enjoy coffee grown in their own country, helping to grow local coffee consumption, and gave the women farmers we work with a direct route to buyers.
Alongside the café and roastery, our Coffee Training Academy builds skills across the coffee value chain, from farm to cup.
Women enrolled in our one-year training program learn best agricultural practices in coffee, home roasting and market access. The result is better productivity, better quality and stronger links to markets.
Cooperatives such as Nyampinga and Twongere Umusaruro wa Kawa (TUK) in Rwanda provide the infrastructure that lets their members produce high-quality, climate-resilient harvests and sell them further afield.
When you drink Question Coffee, you invest in the training and education of the women who produced it.

Our first café in the United States, at the Hopkins Bloomberg Center.
Q Coffee's first café in the Middle East, opened with hospitality partner TGP International.
Question Coffee was featured at Expo 2020 Dubai, where Sustainable Growers was recognised as one of 50 Global Best Practice Programs in Agriculture. Q Coffee returned to Expo City Dubai with a permanent café, officially unveiled in December 2023.
The space tells the farmers' story through photography of coffee farms and rural landscapes, linking guests to the origins of every cup. It is designed as a lively community space that celebrates African culture and heritage and the hard work, determination and resilience of the women behind Q Coffee.
Because the human story is at the heart of Q Coffee, every café pairs relaxed, friendly service with high quality standards. Careful preparation, brewing and presentation carry the seed to sip promise through to the guest.
Café teams are trained to share the story of the women farmers behind the coffee, so every visit carries the meaning of the project and builds a sense of belonging.
Through our partnership with TGP International, Q Coffee is reaching new audiences, as a supplier to venues they operate and at major international events such as COP28. Each new guest is another link between the women who grow our coffee and the markets that reward their work.
